Can I install the fan myself?Activair axial fans must be installed by suitably qualified personnel. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to ensure the installer is suitably qualified. How is the fan motor protected? The motor is fitted with a thermal cut-out. Under normal conditions it is closed, if a fault occurs it opens. It automatically resets once the temperature in the motor has fallen to a safe level. The cut-out should be wired so that it immediately disconnects the electrical supply to the motor when a fault occurs. Because the cut-out automatically resets, the motor will restart without warning. We recommend that the motor is wired so that it can only be restarted by a human operator.
